What Is Cacao?
Cacao comes from the seeds of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao), which has been used for thousands of years in traditional cultures.
Unlike heavily processed cocoa powders, organic cacao powder retains more of its natural compounds.

Why We Use Organic Fermented Cacao
Not all cacao powders are created equal.
The cacao used in Zeotein is organic fermented cacao, meaning the cacao beans go through a natural fermentation process after harvest.
This fermentation process has been used in traditional cacao production for generations and is a key step in developing cacao’s flavor and quality.
During fermentation, naturally occurring microorganisms break down compounds in the cacao beans, which helps create the deep chocolate flavor cacao is known for.
Fermentation helps:

After fermentation, the beans are carefully dried and processed into cacao powder while maintaining their natural characteristics.

Why We Don’t Add Sweeteners

- Acesulfame potassium
- Stevia blends
- Sugar alcohols
These ingredients are often used to mask the taste of lower-quality protein bases.
